The Joss Authentic Traditional pool cue shaft is built the way Joss shafts were originally made — for players who want a solid, classic hit rather than a low-deflection front end.

Capped ferrule and phenolic insert

The shaft uses the original three-quarter-inch capped ferrule, threaded onto a slightly shorter wood tenon. The shorter tenon is less likely to hinge over and unintentionally spin the ball, and it makes for a stronger, longer-lasting shaft with a better hit and feel. The linen-based phenolic insert grips the joint pin more tightly than a standard brass insert and keeps vibration to a minimum when you spin the ball.
